DUB D at Vaquero Taquero
Deirdre Dobbins, better known by her stage name, DUB D, is an American rapper from Houston, Texas. Her first project titled “Double Trouble” was released in March 2022. During that time, she was amazed by how quickly people gravitated towards her music. It was then, she realized that music was her calling. DUB D is inspired by Drake and J.Cole and one day hopes to make music with them both. Her music is described as “soulful and authentic, yet bouncy”. She is driven by her relentless will to overcome any obstacle that may be encountered. “I been through a lot of hard times in my life, but I still push through and never give up, and that shows in my music,” says the MC. “I have no fear when it comes to creating music. I just get in the studio and write whatever comes to my mind.” DUB D also believes it is very important to be a “positive voice” within the Hip-Hop community. “There’s a lot of artists who don’t respect the rap culture, and I’m here to change that,” she says. “I want to show everybody in my hometown that staying true to yourself and pursuing your dreams can take you further than you could ever imagine.” DUB D’s career is just getting started, but it is far from over.
