Rich Aucoin at Valhalla
A mixed-media audio/visual spectacle of a show “Part Daft Punk-inflected Dan Deacon, part DIY-driven Flaming Lips as filtered through Girl Talk” (Austin Chronicle). Solo or a band of synths/guitars/drums/horns/singers playing in sync to everything from iconic or abstract films to viral videos, Rich Aucoin is a crowd-karaoke interactive show which can be viewed like theatre or immersively underneath a large parachute from kindergarten and a flurry of confetti. Aucoin has been long-listed for the Polaris Music Prize twice. The music video for “Brian Wilson is A.L.i.V.E.” won the Prism Prize. Aucoin has built a reputation as one of the best live shows in Canada according to CBC Radio3 and most of the albums sync to old movies like Dark Side of The Moon with The Wizard of Oz. Festival include: Osheaga, Great Escape, Eurockéennes, Berlin Music Fest, Art Basel, Luminato, Iceland Airwaves, SXSW, and Pop Montreal. "How It Breaks" went #1 on the CBC Top 20 Countdown. Aucoin has cycled across both Canada and the US on music tours for charity. New album will have more synthesizers on it than any album in history recorded since 2020 at the National Music Centre in Calgary and VSM in LA.
