DJ Little Martin
Working as a DJ since 1983 in Manchester, U.K. Post-Punk, Pre-Nirvana, Post-Disco, Pre-House, Little Martin has ridden many waves and trends and created a few. Credited by ID Magazine (UK) as one of only three DJs in the UK regularly playing House in early 1987, Little Martin was a pioneer in the UK scene that still influences Dance Music the world over. Resident at New Order’s world-renowned Hacienda nightclub from 1985-1988, the Friday Night "Nude Night" in partnership with DJ Mike Pickering was the epicenter of the Acid House explosion and the birthplace of “Rave”. This weekly event influenced scores of musicians, DJs and producers, including Sasha, Pet Shop Boys, Happy Mondays to name a few. Whilst at The Hacienda, Little Martin was also at the helm of the prophetic “Summer of Love” psychedelia night and the first DJ to ever play a Stone Roses record in 1985.
After relocating to the U.S., Little Martin continued on with several successful residences in Vermont before settling in Houston, TX. He is currently is one of the busiest DJs in Houston with several successful and longstanding residencies.
