Alicia Clara is a dream pop singer-songwriter working at breakneck speed — After 2021's EP Outsider/Unusual, the Swiss-Canadian artist released Velveteen, a lush and breathlessly tender four-song sequence conceived as an homage to her teenage self. Released in October 2022 on Montreal's Hot Tramp Records, Clara's sophomore EP is an intricately-woven tapestry, hypnotic and poised, a midsummer night’s garden embroidered in moonlight. It acts as a portal into Clara’s most inward and vulnerable self: the bedroom-self of her teenage years. She dwells on lost loves, crises of self-doubt, the longing for community, childhood dreams, the agony of accepting one's flaws, the beauty and power of coming into one’s own.

In her young career and with just her two EPs, Clara has garnered the attention of CBC, Exclaim!, Line of Best Fit, charted the Canadian Top 50 National Community and College Radio charts, Bandcamp’s Best Selling Albums Charts in Indie Pop and Dream Pop, and has performed at festivals internationally, including the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, and at live sessions such as Paste Studio on the Road.
