AJ Smith's recent song "We're All Gonna Die" has generated millions of plays on TikTok, over 1,600 user-generated videos, and translated to over 1.8 million streams on Spotify & charted (reaching #50) at Alternative in the USA.
Denver-born, and recently relocated from NYC to Nashville, fast-rising pop artist AJ Smith’s music has the uncanny ability to evoke a nostalgic desire for dramatic pop of decades past while sounding modern & deeply emotive. A flare for the dramatic is written into his DNA - AJ’s father literally ran away & joined the circus (unafraid to step into the “Globe of Death” stunt), while his Great Great Uncle was famed Cuban pianist Ernesto Lecuona, who composed the famed standard “Malagueña”.
It's no surprise then, that Smith’s songwriting & performance abilities have earned multiple awards, including a scholarship from the Songwriters Hall of Fame & a semi-finalist ranking 2020's International Songwriting Contest. Recent highlights include: national TV debut on The Kelly Clarkson show, charting at #50 Alternative Radio, the cover feature in Performer Magazine, working with SpaceX, and stories in American Songwriter, GMA, CBS Radio, Spin Magazine, and more.
