Peter One is a singer-songwriter living in Nashville, TN. Originally from the Ivory Coast in West
Africa, Peter One and his bandmate Jess Sah Bi played their blend of American country and
African harmonies to soccer-stadium crowds in the 70s and 80s. Their 1985 album 'Our Garden
Needs Its Flowers' was rediscovered in recent years by a traveling music enthusiast and
reissued in the US via the Awesome Tapes from Africa label. Embraced as a "folk masterpiece"
and "a work of pure joy" by outlets like Rolling Stone and Pitchfork, the rerelease sparked new
life for Peter One.
He will be releasing new music in 2023.
