Calder Allen
At 20 years of age, Calder Allen is one of the newest rising acts to emerge out of Austin, Texas. Both audibly and lyrically beyond his years, Allen is a prolific singer-songwriter and self-taught guitarist who completed the recording of his first album in August 2021 at the historic Arlyn Studios, shortly followed by his inaugural performance at Austin City Limits Music Festival. His debut album, produced and engineered respectively by Charlie Sexton and Jacob Sciba was released in June of 2022. His 2022 festival run included slots at Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza Chicago, Sea Hear Now and Format Festival. Beyond festivals, he opened for John Hiatt, Turnpike Troubadours, The Wood Brothers, Shane Smith and the Saints and more.
His new music is slated to be released Summer 2023. The album is once again being recorded at Austin’s Arlyn Studios alongside Sexton and Sciba.
A fifth generation Austinite, Allen’s natural ability and love for music is embedded into his DNA; his music inspirations include his grandfather Terry Allen.
Outside of music, though also his sources of constant inspiration, Allen enjoys fly fishing, rock climbing, and practicing conservation in the great outdoors.
