Big Wy's Brass Band brings a frenetic, engaging party wherever they play. Formed from band students at Austin's own Westlake High school, the band has played to the music lovers of Austin for nearly 8 years. In addition to playing iconic Austin venues such as Antone's, the Continental Club, and the Moody Amphitheatre, the band has also represented Austin at International jazz festivals in Guatemala and Costa Rica. They play an eclectic mix of traditional New Orleans standards, funky originals, and have collaborated with a variety of Austin artists such as the beatbox king Ben Buck and indie heavy hitters Night Cap. Whether it's at a second-line wedding on Lake Travis, the Austin Hot Sauce festival, or a rocking house party, Big Wy's aims to invite the listener on a wild ride through its brassy confections and hard-hitting rhythm section!
