Jake Whiskin at Seven Grand

Date TBA

Jake Whiskin is a songwriter from Leeds, England who blends atmospheric Americana with hard-hitting Indie Rock.

From life growing up in a council estate, young love & black metal adoration to later discovering classic songwriters such as Petty, Young and Springsteen via his Dad’s record collection, Whiskin’s recollections and explorations are a document of adolescence in Yorkshire in the early 00’s, set to carefully written and quietly anthemic songs.

Jake’s eclectic debut album arrived November 4th 2022 and has been lauded by the likes of The Independent, Clash and Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, as well as consistently featuring on Spotify’s New Music Friday, The Most Beautiful Songs In The World with the album’s singles passing one million streams before its release - Whiskin is fast becoming one of Yorkshire’s most hotly tipped songwriters.

“Just like Springsteen, just like Elliot Smith, just like Sam Fender - When you are blessed with a voice that sounds as good as this, there isn’t much else you need to do… Just pick up the instrument, write the songs and your voice will do the talking. Jake Whiskin feels like he’s got something real special.” - Jack Saunders, BBC Radio 1
