Shelly Fairchild at Cheer Up Charlie's Outdoor
Having had her share of trials and tribulations navigating the overwhelmingly straight nature of
record label titans, Shelly Fairchild carved out a space for herself as a highly respected and
established queer country artist whether or not the powers that be approved. Nashville,
Tennessee based and Jackson, Mississippi born, Fairchild has toured with an array of artists
spanning from Tanya Tucker to Martina McBride, and her songs have been featured on various
TV programs such as Grey’s Anatomy, Selling Sunset, and Riverdale. She is a regular guest on
the Grand Ole Opry, hosts a monthly LGBTQ+ night at famed Nashville institution Lipstick
Lounge, and was named one of Rolling Stone Country’s “Top 10 Artists You Need To Know.” Her
work is bluesy, potent, and distinctive—informed and driven by her identity, relationships, and
struggles both personal and professional. New to the Kill Rock Stars family, she is currently
writing and recording her next fearlessly honest and self-expressive full length album,
unimpeded by a bunch of heterosexual men in suits.
