Vayne is a radio announcer, media personality, and MC based in the beautiful island of Barbados. She got her start in the music industry in New York City as a rapper. Vayne landed a spot in XXL Magazine’s “Show & Prove” section, and her freestyles were frequently played on both Hot 97.1 FM and Power 105.1 FM in New York. She was featured on countless mixtapes, and also landed a spot on the late DJ Kay Slay’s 2006 album “The Champions: North Meets South”. After signing a production deal with Street Sweepers Entertainment, she released a mixtape entitled ‘The Golden Child’. The mixtape included verses from Busta Rhymes, Remy Ma, Papoose, Rah Digga, and more.
Vayne is currently a radio announcer on HITZ 106.7 FM in Barbados. She is the host of some of the largest events on the island, and has introduced acts such as Ashanti, Trey Songz, Lauryn Hill, Beenie Man, and Keyshia Cole to name a few. Vayne has also had the honor of interviewing some of the top artists in Reggae and Soca music including Sizzla, Aidonia, Tarrus Riley, Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin, and more!
Vayne will host the Island Wave stage at SXSW, which is the official Caribbean stage.
