Mary Scholz
Mary Scholz’s stunning voice and evocative songwriting have made her a live circuit favorite for over a decade. The Philadelphia native has toured internationally, forging a personal connection with her audience every time she takes the stage. Today, the artist is based in Los Angeles, where her unique brand of gritty folk-charm has continued to open doors and connect her with audiences all over the world.
Much of Scholz’s material considers how transitions color the human experience, as well as the side effects of love and loss. Her newest record, Begin Again, produced by Jonathan Wilson, paints a panoramic, starry landscape of these themes and more, from how we process life internally, to how we respond as a community. Tracked at Wilson’s studio in Topanga Canyon, it was mixed by Dave Cerminara, and mastered by Emily Lazar & Chris Allgood.
Lonesome, Mary's 2021 EP, made its way up the Americana radio charts, both for its toe-tapping title track, and the album itself. She also recently collaborated with Blue Élan Records on “While We’re Still Young,” a duet with Taylor John Williams, as a part of My Friend: A Tribute to Rusty Young, debuting at #9 on Billboard Compilation Chart
