Kym Register & Meltdown Rodeo

Kym Register and The Meltdown Rodeo (formerly Loamlands) is a distorted transgressive country music outfit based in North Carolina that places queer storytelling at the forefront. Their music intimately grapples with identity, retribution, reconciliation and queer existence in both modern-day and historical southern culture. They are a project build of out a love of place and people with a desire to listen and tell stories of queer community. Kym Register and the Meltdown Rodeo use aspects of story telling from traditional envelop pushers that came before them. They're obsessed with elders and distortion, and hope some of these stories and tunes connect with you.
They've toured extensively for the past ten years with bands like The Mountain Goats, Nana Grizol, Lee Bains and The Glory Fires, Mirah, Lost in the Trees, Natalie Prass, The Bowerbirds, The Muslims and more. Check out Sweet High Rise and get ready for their new release coming this spring!
