His best friend, Tawanda, reluctantly supports this notion, and their journey begins. Jibril hustles up enough cash to get the chain plus something for Tawanda too. He asks his crazy Uncle Duke for a ride to the flea market. Jibril and Tawanda are in awe of everything at the flea market -- the clothes, the jewelry, the small shops, etc. Jibril gets the chain. He arrives at school on Monday ready to impress Marlana, but she doesn't even notice. Rashad has a new pair of kicks.
