Beyond Protest: Creating Policy Change Through Social Movements
In 2020, we saw the single largest protest movement in U.S. history in response to the police killings of Black people. It was the latest in an explosion of organizing and activism around public safety, climate change, immigrant rights, economic justice, and so much more. But how can social movements translate their people power into governing power? And what can political movements do to ensure their demands are met by our representatives? Join elected leaders and some of the leading organizers spearheading this new wave of activism about how to turn protest into policy.
