The Classroom of the Future for Music Creatives

Mar 14, 2022

11:30am – 12:30pm CT

How do we show young aspiring creatives that a career in the arts is attainable? That is the challenge that Jason “IDK” Mills, Marcelo HD, and Miles Weddle tackled when they founded No Label Academy, a ten day BIPOC-tailored (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) music business course at Harvard University in 2021 that featured instructors such as Virgil Abloh and TDE's Punch. Having raised half a million dollars from Nike, Air Jordan, Converse, Logitech and Guess to create the state of the art learning environment, the founders will discuss how their new approach to education inspires a level of student engagement and success never seen before. They will also explore how providing resources in financial literacy, tech, and mental health is crucial to building an equitable music industry.
