IBM Designs A New Culture: Racial Equity in Design

Mar 13, 2022

11:30am – 12:30pm CT

The frustration of racial inequity has been cast under a stark spotlight that no one can ignore, and the reality is, things aren’t going to change unless we take concerted steps to change them. Join designers and leaders of the IBM Racial Equity in Design Initiative who will speak to the creation of the initiative and steps they are taking to make sustainable, equitable change for Black designers at the company and in the design industry. Also joining the panel is Omari Souza, design professor at Texas State University, who partnered with IBM on last year's State of Black Design Conference. The combined partnership busted open the myth that the "pipeline doesn't exist," and gave Black designers exposure to career opportunities at IBM and beyond.
