Putting Open Data to Work at Scale
Advance sign-up is required, and access is limited to the Primary Badge type listed. Please locate the RSVP button to reserve your spot.
Open Data could be great to tackle the big questions of today, if there wasn’t so much of it. For example, data.gov has more than 26,000 datasets relating to climate change (out of a total of more than 320,000), but which ones actually matter and which ones can drive a data-driven discussion? Finding a needle in the haystack here and there, topic by topic, does not enable to public discourse necessary to drive change.
Hence, this workshop aims to start and foster the discussion how to best get to the value of public data; how to look at the big topics not one dataset and one chart at the time, but at scale.
Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
