Tech talent is hard to hire. But the issue isn’t as simple as supply and demand — institutional bias remains a key factor. Furthermore, today’s hiring processes and metrics are still vastly outdated, and even the most forward-thinking company leaders have blindspots. To fix the tech talent gap, we need diverse perspectives. During this discussion, a white co-founder sits down with three unapologetically authentic Black tech talent leaders to get real about why so few companies are successfully eliminating systemic issues that have locked underrepresented candidates out of careers in tech. They will also share feedback about what diversity numbers and processes mean to them, and to people like them, and will talk about ways to change hiring at the individual, company, and systemic levels.
