The stories that shape our world the most are the ones we hear the least - those told by underrepresented voices. Giving rise to the voices from these communities can help tackle inequality through understanding that spurs action. This panel will feature creators who are using gaming technologies to fight inequity. Hear from Idris Brewster, creator of an augmented reality app that teaches inclusive history, Luisa Dantas, executive producer of a video game that sheds light on the injustices embedded in the U.S. housing system, and Gabriel Torres, creator of a game that provides a support system and creative space for Latinx Queers. Each speaker will share the inspiration and implementation that has helped them counter inaccurate societal narratives.
