In March of 2020 patients were forced to manage their health in ways they never had before. We learned to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 and engage with the medical world through virtual therapy appointments, Zooms with doctors and tech-enabled experiences that used to happen in person, (e.g., health screenings, delivery of medical records). This digital acceleration of health has changed how patients control their health and has provided new datasets that can optimize patient experiences. However, the “patient experience” is not monolithic, and it is imperative that we collect and cut data by more than just disease — also including race, ethnicity, and cultural attributes. This panel will explore digital acceleration for all and how tech-enabled patients are changing healthcare.
