In November 2021, Baltimore Blue Green Just, a coalition of organizations and individuals advocating for new approaches to address environmental and social justice issues in Baltimore, gathered communities together to ask, How can we be greater than the sum of our parts? Residents, green groups, businesses, churches, and elected officials committed to climate action convened to revisit the sustainability issues culled from earlier BBGJ discussion circles. They collaborated around topics that spoke to their hearts, talents, and resources to generate collective and connected solutions, acting on the belief that a shared mindset and commitment have the power to create the sustainable way forward.
