Climate change is a global phenomenon with thousands of factors involved in its effects and thousands of ideas on how to prevent the most severe impacts to society. Startups funded by the U.S. National Science Foundation are creating new and cutting-edge technologies intended to reduce the impact of climate change and potentially improve the lives of millions. From innovating air conditioning systems, reducing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and advancing alternative fuels to developing transparent solar panels, startups are moving basic research out of the laboratory and toward broad-scale use.
