Miranda Bailey produced Split at the Root which is screening in the SXSW Film Festival: https://schedule.sxsw.com/2022/films/2054924
Documentaries are the mirror reflecting our society’s greatest triumphs as well as our biggest failures: whether they touch on true crime, amazing feats, the animal kingdom, climate change, individuals who superseded human expectations and events that shaped our planet – we rely on documentaries not just to educate and enlightened us but to also bring together our collective consciousness to a particular subject or issue. Since the pandemic hit, we have seen documentaries become a powerful force that enthralls us like Allen v. Farrow, Britney Spears’, Tiger King, Flee, and many others that shift our perception as a community – what does it take to make a great documentary? why are they so important? and what can be done to insure we don’t lose this art form?
