Featured Session: Using Data to Advance Racial Equity
The past two years have disrupted almost every aspect of our lives, and the social sector is no exception. Philanthropy has been caught on its back foot as restrictive grant practices became impractical during Covid, the awakening to racial injustice brought new attention to who is being funded and served, and growing inequity raised questions about the inherent power imbalance between funders and nonprofits.
Data can not only expose the raw inequities in the social sector, but also be a powerful tool to disrupt the system. In this session, Candid’s CEO Ann Mei Chang will pull back the curtains on the current landscape, demonstrate how data can empower historically marginalized leaders, and present a hopeful vision for a more equitable future.
