Women account for only 27 percent of C-suite positions in media and entertainment, but that’s slowly starting to change. The past few years have seen a broader trend of women taking lead roles in news organizations across the country at outlets like Axios, Reuters, MSNBC, Bon Appetit and Entertainment Weekly, and even on college campuses: all eight Ivy League student papers had female leadership in 2020.
