How Video Game Technology Is Influencing TV and Film

The Unreal Engine is already being used widely in TV and film production, thanks in part to the Mandalorian. UE5 promises to further blur the lines of fiction and reality with Metahuman and dynamic lighting engines producing near photorealistic imagery. That’s just one example of technology influencing film production. Unity has increased its presence in production with recent acquisitions. Netflix has pivoted to gaming, and even gamified one of its films in the choose-your-own-adventure Black Mirror: Bandersnatch. This panel looks at the next generation in gaming technology and how they will further advance storytelling in TV and film.
