Art vs Wars: How Digital Storytelling Could Give Peace a Chance

Mar 14, 2022

11:30am – 12:30pm CT

This session was originally pitched and organized by RT Creative Lab - an in-house team in Russia creating award-winning educational and historical projects through digital art and interactive storytelling with one main goal - to remind young people globally of the importance of history and how the terrible sacrifices and mistakes of the past can be avoided for our future. Shortly before SXSW, the team was dissolved and many resigned due to the horrific events currently happening in Ukraine. This session will now be led by one of the world’s foremost XR artists, Sutu (initial panel speaker). It will focus on anti-war/anti-violence storytelling featuring award winning work from around the world. Sutu will engage audiences in a conversation on how art is now crucially important in spreading messages of peace to unite people in dialogue.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
