Drunk Uncle

Date TBA

Drunk Uncle began in 2019 as the slacker-emo brainchild of guitarist/vocalist Peyton Heinig, joined by bassist Will Gore after meeting at a house party and drummer Jake Rhodes who responded to Peyton’s Craigslist ad. The trio released Drunk Uncle’s first EP, Fiction Years and split, Lucky.Dizzy.Bored in 2020. That summer they picked up multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Tyler Miller, broadening their musical palette as they wrote freshman album, “Look Up” (released March 11, 2022), which ultimately got them signed with Count Your Lucky Stars Records in 2021.

"Austin emo band Drunk Uncle are a newish band, but as Hugo Reyes pointed out in his writeup for The Alternative, they sound like a trip back to the early 2010s emo revival days, back when 'emo revival' meant scrappy basement bands who sound like mid '90s Midwest emo. Their album Look Up comes out March 11 via Count Your Lucky Stars, and new single 'The Definition of Weeds' does a ton of justice to that sound and era." - Brooklyn Vegan
