Ava Vegas is an outstanding newcomer based in Berlin. In late 2020 she released her debut album, which was widely featured and praised by the media and named recommendation of the month by Rolling Stone magazine. It contains nine subtle, catchy songs: Art Pop inspired by 1980s John Cale, balladesque Leslie Feist, Lana del Rey, and the coquettish smile of Hildegard Knef.
Ava Vegas has been playing her dystopian surreal pop pieces in Berlin bars, galleries, and venues such as Berghain Kantine or Roter Salon and Grüner Salon of Volksbühne and has thus made a name for herself in the art scene as well as in the music scene.
She’s been performing at 2021 Eurosonic Norderslaag, Reeperbahnfestival International Beijing, Pop-Kultur Berlin, c/o Pop Cologne, Waves Vienna, and many more festivals.
Ava grew up in a medieval town with a Twin-Peaks-like character, but spent most of her childhood and youth on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza, Spain: influenced by the local techno clubs and music scene, she finally ended up in Berlin, where she studied architecture at the University of the Arts. Today she constructs her songs like buildings, containing dense, cinematic atmospheres.
