Who's Flora and who's Fawna?
Flora & Fawna is a genre-blending alt-pop duo from Austin, Texas. Local natives Lili Hickman (vocals, songwriting) & Mason Ables (guitar, production) combine their varied musical backgrounds to create a high-energy sonic experience. They rose to local notoriety with their first single, "Slow Burn", a brooding, enigmatic anthem for new love. A self-titled EP quickly followed, landing them their first SXSW appearance in 2020.
Bringing in the addition of Nick Hamner (drums), their live show is unlike any other in the Austin scene. Blending Mason's expansive instrumentals, Lili's unparalleled stage presence, and Nick's bombastic drumming, Flora & Fawna create a truly unforgettable live experience. They take the polish of their recordings to another level with their vivacity and drive.
The band plans to release a follow-up EP in early summer with a single, "Long Shot" coming out in late April with an accompanying music video. They've teamed up with L.A. production wiz, Misha Hercules (Hozier, Kendrick Lamar, Maggie Rogers, Wavves, Steve Lacy) to produce their most striking and coherent music to date.
