The Broadside Hack: An Introduction
As England emerged from lockdown a new generation of alternative musicians discovered the traditional sounds and ancient folk songs of the UK and Ireland. Forming new bands and collectives they gathered in pubs and bars to explore the old tunes and discover new themes in the music from proto-feminist narratives to queer histories. The Broadside Hack introduces this new folk wave with interviews and intimate live performances from Boss Morris, Shovel Dance Collective, Thyrsis, caroline and Broadside Hacks, as captured by British Underground at Real World Studios in Box Wiltshire.
