Gede Robi Navicula
Gede Robi is the vocalist, guitarist and founder of Indonesian rock band Navicula from Bali. Gede Robi is an outspoken advocate for social, environmental and human rights combining activism with music as a platform for social change.
Navicula have released 11 albums during their 25 year-long music career. Their Love Bomb album was produced by Alain Johannes at Record Plant Studios. Navicula have toured extensively all over Indonesia, the US, Europe, Canada and Australia and were recently awarded a 'Lifetime Achievement Award' for their contribution to music and social and environmental activism in Indonesia.
Robi has a well-established career as a solo musician, playing all over the world. He is the co-creator and main protagonist of award-winning documentary film Pulau Plastik (Plastic Island) about the plastic pollution crisis facing Indonesia and the world. Pulau Plastik will be screened as at the SXSW EDU Film Festival.
