So!YoON! is the moniker of solo project from Hwang Soyoon, front person of South Korean band SE SO NEON. Soyoon launched this solo act as a character separated from her band which evidently secured her more artistic leeway. As So!YoON!, she has presented more salient presence of her vocals and incorporated different genres around it seamlessly such as Electronica and R&B - her first release So!YoON!(2019) dismantled preconceived categories of music, accompanied with a dazzling list of featured artists in various genres. Most recently released was a collaborative album with Thailand’s singer-songwriter Phum Viphurit titled Wings, which garnered over 9M listens on Spotify. One other notable thing about her solo project is its experimental visuals which sets her aside as an iconic figure in the industry. Never failing to going a step forward from expectations, her footprints so far as So!YoON! are enough to keep fans on toes wondering what is to come next.
