En Orbito came to life during the 2020 pandemic lockdown from the creative minds of Miguel "Ziggy" Pantoja and Dustin Braden. These 2 multi-instrumentalists were stuck in lockdown like everyone else when they got tired of staying home and not being able to play music and risked it all to start creating new music and a new sound. Heavily influenced by Afrobeat legends and pioneers like Fela Kuti, Tony Allen, Manu Dibango, The Funkees, Antibalas, Idris Muhammed, Hugh Masekela, Sun Ra, along with Funk legends like P-Funk, The Blackbyrds, GilScott Heron, Roy Ayers and even Cumbia greats like Los Destellos, Los Mirlos, Los Illusionistas, Sonido Gallo Negro. In June of 2020 they decided to cut the record themselves instead of waiting for pandemic restrictions to lift and by early August 2020 they had completed their first EP title "Rising Future" These tracks were quickly picked up by producer and frontman of Golden Dawn Arkestra, Topaz McGarrigle along with GDA's Producer, Erik Wafford for mixing and mastering. Their sound is a unique blend of Afrobeat meets Psychedelic Cumbias. This 9 piece band enjoys their 1st Official SXSW performance on 3/16/22 at Hotel Vegas.
