Pushing the boundaries of pop music, Austin-based band Slomo Drags “know how to twist a seemingly simple riff or lyric into a mind-bending display of musicianship” (KUTX). The quintet is comprised of Jackson Albracht (lead vocals, guitar, keys), Alex Ogle (drums, vox), Adam Mason (bass, keys, vox), Mari Rubio (guitar), and Jim Campo (Keys). Growing up in San Antonio, Jackson and Mari played in other bands, but it wasn’t until they relocated to Austin and hooked up with Alex and Adam in 2016 that Slomo Drags was conceived. A distinctively bubbly stage presence paired with whip-smart lyrical wit forged their place in the Texas music scene and beyond. The Austin Chronicle hailed Slomo Drags a “demented pop splendor”. Their inspirations include Elliott Smith, Of Montreal, and the Beach Boys. Their full-length album Twin Absorber, co-produced by Danny Reisch (The Bright Light Social Hour, Shearwater, Erika Winnestrom, Tele Novella) and Matt Parmenter (Chrysta Bell, Quiet Company) will be released in Spring 2022 via Spaceflight Records.
