Pale Dian
PALE DIAN of Austin TX hit the noise scene riding the boundaries between dark post-punk and ethereal shoegaze, their smudgy, esoteric sound can be described as “Nightmare Pop.” With influences stretching from Cocteau Twins to Roy Orbison, the pulsing rhythms and swirling sounds play on deep emotional experience and dream-state subconsciousness.
The group toured extensively throughout the US and South America in support of their debut album, “Narrow Birth.” Their latest single, “Emily,” foreshadows their new LP set to be released in 2022.
Current lineup: Ruth Ellen Smith (vocals, synth), Derek Kutzer (guitar), Misti Hamrick (bass), and Neil Durr (percussion, drum machine).
