Croy and the Boys
Croy and the Boys are a songwriter driven honky tonk band from Austin, Texas. Their sound is unmistakably Austin, not just in their musical influences, channeling both the tex-mex sounds and slacker attitudes of Doug Sahm and the Texas Tornadoes, along with the hard driving electric dance hall country of the surrounding Texas Hill Country, but also in the decidedly left social commentary contained in the lyrics. With song titles like “Gentrification” “Luxury (Is A Four Letter Word To Me)” and “ Howdy High-rise”, there isn’t another hub of country music that this band could be from but Austin. Croy and the Boys have held down weekly residencies at the now famous White Horse, are multi year Black Fret nominees, have recorded with Adrian Quesada (Black Pumas, Brownout, Grupo Fantasma) and Jim Eno (Spoon), are four time losers of the Austin Chronicle Music Awards Country Band Of The Year award (It’s nice just to be nominated) and proud members of HAAM.
