Lolita Lynne has long been one of Austin music’s best kept secrets -- not just for her commanding musicianship (a 2020 Austin Music Award nod for Best Bassist) but also for the ornate, contemplative art-pop she first made as Magia Negra and now makes under her own name. Lynne’s upcoming release is poised to put her on a much wider radar, where everybody can get in on the secret. Following her eclectic and mesmerizing debut Fools Moon (produced by Black Pumas co-founder Adrian Quesada), Lynne’s new record opens up her sonic world even further with collaborators Sam Houston (BLK ODYSSY) and Greg Clifford (Heartless Bastards, White Denim) and mixed by Danny Reisch. With a release planned for the second half of 2022, it’s only a matter of time before the secret is out, once and for all.
