Electric Seed
Band Bio:
Electric Seed is the brainchild of Dwight J. Roy, taking the ethos, earthiness, and technical skill of the blues and breathing life back into its old bones.
The Metal Heart EP, the band's first work, was created in the magma hot Louisiana summer of 2013. A Hendrixian guitarist that was forged in the furnace of the blues, Dwight Roy, enlisting the help of bassist Edward Coussan and drummer Zach Rhea, decided to create a work that would give shape to a new form of blues music. A blues that wasn't confined to just 12 bars. His philosophy: if you could drench other forms of music in copious amounts of the blues ethos and character, it would inevitably and undeniably transform into the blues itself. Simply put, The Metal Heart EP is Electric Seed's attempt to fashion a new perspective on the blues, as well as build a musical home for the innovative bluesman: the bluesman that cannot fully express himself in a mere 12 bars.
"Some of the songs on “Metal Heart” are seven years old, and others were written in recent months, but the EP is a cohesive statement congruous with themes of the blues — women, longing and hard times — but with an electric shock and authoritative insight.
