The Lemonheads performing It's A Shame About Ray
Since they were formed in Boston, Mass, in 1986, the family tree of The Lemonheads has many twisted tentacles and tangential branches, and a host of one-liners etched into its bark. Through their ranks passed Descendents, Blakes Babies, Dinosaur Jrs and members of Fuzzy. Three raucous albums on Taang! in the '80s led to a deal with Atlantic Records and 'Lovey' (1990). Subsequent albums, 'It's A Shame About Ray' (1992) and 'Come On Feel The Lemonheads' (1993) focussed on that Evan vocal and the hits followed, the radio hummed to the gorgeous 'Into Your Arms' and national TV beckoned.
Now in 2022, The Lemonheads mark three decades of It’s A Shame About Ray with a special anniversary release out 4th March on Fire Records. The celebrations continue with The Lemonheads performing an exclusive ‘It’s A Shame About Ray’ anniversary showcase at this year’s SXSW festival before touring across the US (with Jawbreaker) and Europe this Spring.
