MAVICA
Hailing from southeastern Spain and currently residing between Madrid and London, MAVICA grew up thumbing through her parents record collection and singing in a church choir. Her first EP ‘Gone’ is a compilation of songs written during her high school years. Influenced by Sufjan Stevens, Laura Marling and The Beatles, infused with her inner feelings, aspirations and the quintessential sense of wonder of a teenager. Following the EP release, she played more than 60 shows across London, Berlin and Spain, including major festivals such as Mad Cool, Vida Festival and Monkey Week and opened for Jonathan Wilson, Alice Phoebe Lou and Blanco White amongst others.
She moved to London to study Music Production, where she started playing synths or recording vocals for Blanco White and Malena Zavala, whom she had the opportunity to play with at Abbey Road Studios. During the pandemic, she released ‘Send me to the water’ in March 2020. Her sophomore EP showcases a folk-pop fueled by the rawest of emotions mixed with small touches of electronic arrangements that will define her debut album, ‘Olympia Garden APTS’, a step forward in her sound and composition that moves towards electronic and pop.
