Cheque (Real name Akinbi Bamidele Brett (March 25,1995), born and raised in Osun State, Nigeria. The 26-year-old singer, rapper and songwriter earned a reputation amongst the thriving West African music scene after signing to Penthauze Music in 2019. His music represents unbound diversification and versatility, fusing Afro, Trap, R&B, Hip-Hop and Pop through his expansive lyricism and melodies. Continuing to make waves on home soil, he now turns his focus to further establishing himself overseas.

His debut album ‘Bravo’ stems off the back of a run of singles including ‘Call Me Baby’ and most recently ‘LOML’ alongside YBNL linchpin Olamide helping to build momentum for the project. Additional collaborations come from charismatic American rapper Jackboy and Nigerian musical prodigy Ayra Starr, who channels new energies in lead single ‘Dangerous’. The reflective ‘History’ sees Cheque join forces with childhood school friend Fireboy DML to reminisce on how far they’ve come.

Cheque released his debut EP 'Razor' in 2020 to global recognition with the breakout single “Zoom” hitting #2 on the Nigerian charts as well as charting in Ghana, Liberia, Uganda, Benin and Cameroon.
