Peyton
Houston born and bred R&B songstress & songwriter Peyton's life has been filled with music since she began learning violin at the age of five. Her family, particularly her grandmother Theola Booker, a Grammy-nominated songwriter and Houston Gospel giant, nurtured Peyton's musical talents.
In 2015, Peyton collaborated with Steve Lacy of The Internet for the track "Verbs."
She soon after released the song "Sweet Honey," which caught the ear of Peanut Butter Wolf, who signed Peyton to his indie label Stones Throw Records in 2019. The track was featured on season 3 of Issa Rae’s hit HBO series Insecure along with another song of Peyton's "Lifeline." In 2019, Peyton released her debut Stones Throw EP Reach Out. Peyton's debut album, PSA, was released in July 2021 and it garnered recognition from Okayplayer, Pitchfork, which rated the album 7.1/10, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Clash Magazine and more, and favorable looks on DSPs. Rolling Stone magazine featured Peyton in the Hot List 2021 issue in July 2021. Peyton headlined her first show in Los Angeles in January 2022 which was sold out. Peyton will also perform at We Are One Music + Arts Festival, on May 14, 2022.
