Since they were formed in Boston, Mass, in 1986 by Evan Dando, the family tree of The Lemonheads has many twisted tentacles and tangential branches, and a host of one-liners etched into its bark. Three raucous albums on Taang! in the '80s led to a deal with Atlantic Records and 'Lovey' (1990). Subsequent albums, 'It's A Shame About Ray' (1992) and 'Come On Feel The Lemonheads' (1993) focussed on that Evan vocal and the hits followed, the radio hummed to the gorgeous 'Into Your Arms'; national TV beckoned; The Lemonheads were on Leno and Lettermen but by '97 Evan announced the end of the Lemonheads on stage at Reading Festival.

Evan Dando’s magnificent solo album 'Baby, I'm Bored' dropped in 2003 and by 2004 he was fronting The MC5 before returning as The Lemonheads. before returning as The Lemonheads with a head-on collision of wordy '70s punk and cosmic country for 2006's self-titled album as a new line up was bedded in. 2008 saw the release of ‘Varshons’ and then in 2019 ‘Varshons 2’ (Fire Records) followed with Matthew Cullen that featured guest appearances from Willy Mason and Nina Violet.

Now in 2022, Evan Dando’s Lemonheads mark three decade
