Digital Access: A New Social Determinant of Health

Children's hospitals and T-Mobile are partnering to discuss the growing digital divide and the emergence of a new social determinant of health; digital access. Technology & digital access can now play a significant role in a patient’s ability to have equitable access to healthcare, education and many other areas of their life. This discussion will provide insight into areas of concern such as telemedicine inequalities, technology literacy, language barriers and gaps in internet access within our population, both children and adult, that will continue to grow problematic if not addressed. We will also explore what innovation is being worked on as we move into the future of 5G, remote care and the internet of medical things (IoMT) at pediatric hospitals and beyond.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
