Female-Founded Startups: The COVID-19 Effect

It’s a difficult time for female entrepreneurs. Although VC funding has held steady overall, the already-small percentage of funding going to female founders hit a three-year low in 2020. And now the pandemic has meant that women, who tend to take on the bulk of home and family duties—nearly 3X more unpaid work than men—are left with little time for essential activities to support their startup like fundraising, networking and collaboration. This expert panel of women business and venture leaders will discuss how female entrepreneurs are facing the dual challenges of growing their businesses while balancing the needs of their families, while also offering opportunities for businesses and venture communities to help female-led startups survive—and thrive—during these unprecedented times.
