Over the last decades, most entertainment and information technology (ar/vr, home cinema etc) has improved beyond recognition, providing us with immersive experiences that can showcase artists' visions better than ever before. There is one tragic exception: audio platforms. Over the years audio quality has been sacrificed for accessibility, splitting consumers into audiophiles preferring quality of equipment and content over highly compressed digital music which has been widely accepted because of easy downloads and streaming services on any internet-connected device. This is about to change. Audio equipment and streaming services are starting to converge with higher-quality offerings, reintroducing hi-res audio to a new generation of listeners, with the same ease of accessibility.
