Stuart Candy (@futuryst) is an educator, strategic facilitator and designer whose practice aims to amplify collective foresight using media, games and live interventions. He is Director of Situation Lab and Associate Professor of Design at Carnegie Mellon University, and Fellow of the Long Now Foundation and the Museum of Tomorrow.
A pioneer of experiential futures practices (including immersive scenarios, design fiction, speculative and critical design, design futures, etc), he has spent a decade and a half collaboratively developing approaches and tools to make design more foresightful and foresight more designerly, and bringing them to learners, leaders, and audiences around the world. He co-created the award-winning imagination game The Thing From The Future (2nd ed, 2018), and co-edited the landmark open access collection Design and Futures (2019).
