Mike Casey

New York based saxophonist/songwriter Mike Casey’s self released catalog passed 4 million streams in the first 3 years of his recording career without a record label or a team (an anomaly in jazz). His music has been featured in Huffington Post, Forbes, DJbooth, Radio Primavera Sound, Rinse FM, Worldwide FM, Downbeat, Nerdist, Jazz in Europe, Live for Live Music, Music Ally and many more.

A graduate of Berklee's Valencia graduate program in Contemporary Performance/Music Production and the Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz at the Hartt School, he recently worked with Splice to create their first ever saxophone sample pack (reaching more than 1 million producers on their platform).

A former high school DJ, he recently tapped into his youth hip hop obsession and DJ/producer roots with Surprise! The Remixes, working with producers around the world (including Emmy winning Apple Juice Kid) to re-imagine cuts from his first two live albums in a variety of hip hop influences from J. Dilla to G Funk and beyond.

Mike and his trio have packed or sold out shows at some of the top jazz venues in the USA and Europe with his core trio, reaching a young diverse fanbase around the world with an upbeat, eclectic live show encompassing original music with influences from hip hop, funk, R&B, rock and ingredients of music from around the world mixed with genre-bending re-imaginations of songs by artists as diverse as Soundgarden and Daniel Caesar. This is not your parent’s elevator music.

Mike will release his 4th album "Law of Attraction" throughout 2020, with Grammy nominated pianist Benito Gonzalez joining his trio on 3 tracks.
